Shri. Ambilikuttan (Principal)

Grandson of the famous lyricist-lexicographer late Abhayadev., Ambillikuttan began his studies in music at the age of 7 years .

After post-graduation had the rare privilege to become the Disciple of Dr.Balamurali Krishna,the stalwart of Carnatic Music. He was awarded the prestigious title Sarvakalaprathibha (Best All-rounder in Music) during later part of his Academic years. He has performed innumerable programs all over India and many countries abroad. Sung in numerous films and produced and music directed audio of classical, light and Bhajans to his credit. Shri. Ambilikuttan was also deeply involved in the music direction for some famous works and has also received of the State Sangeeth Natak Academy award for outstanding musicians in the year 2001.

Currently holds the Principal’s portfolio of the Indian Institute of Performing Arts.

Mrs. Lalitha Ambilikuttan

Had her initial training in music from early childhood. After her formal graduation she proceeded to Khairagarh to graduate with a Diploma in Vocal Music. She further went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Indira Kala Sangeetha University. She again proceeded to New Delhi for her advanced training in music where she has been the student of great maestros like Prof.T.N.Krishnan, Prof.T.R.Subrahmanyam and Prof.Leela Omchery. She took Post Graduation in Carnatic Music from the Delhi University. Before joining IIPA she has been serving as the Lecturer of Music at the Training College, Mahatma Gandhi.University, Kerala. She is the wife of Shri. Ambilikuttan.

She is currently the Head of Carnatic Department in the Indian Institute of Performing Arts.

Cijo Antony

Though very young Mr.Cijo Antony is an experienced Keyboard Piano/ Guitar teacher. He got his music credentials in a very commendable way from the famous Trinity College of music, London. He took his Grades in Piano and Electric Keyboard and also got accreditation for Classical Guitar also from the Trinity itself. His talent was groomed under the supervision of Fr.Thomas Chakkalamattom of the famous Chetana Music Academy.

Before coming to Bahrain Mr.Cijo hasd been a famous teacher of his specialized subjects in Chetana Academy, Trichur and also in Sandeepani Vidya Niketan, Trichur for 3 years besides his wide experience as a stage performer and composer. He always maintains a strict and disciplinarian approach to his classes which are based upon well drafted Trinity Syllabus.

Bushra Sultana

Bushra Sultana is a Kathak Choreographer with vast experience.She traveled a lot for the propagation of Kathak and choreographed various themes in tradiotional way. She is a very highly qualified professional in this field with trhe senior diploma Vid in Kathak and also a first class Post Graduate Degree in Kathak from the famous IKS University.

Parthasarathi Banerjee

Parthasarathi Banerjee is one of the most promising & talented young Sitarists of "Senia Gharana". Born in Kharagpur, West Bengal in a family of musicians, he showed extra ordinary potentiality in music since his childhood. At the year of 8 he started learning Vocal Music. He was heralded to the realm of Sitar at the age of sixteen. He got his early lessons in Sitar from his father Late Sanat Kumar Banerjee since 1985. Later he was trained by Pt.Sasanka Banerjee & Pt.Ajay Sinha Roy, an eminent Sitarist & musicologist. At the later part of his studenthood, he became the student of Pt.Deboprasad Chakroborthy who is a perfect exponent of Senia Gharana. Pt. Chakroborthy has made Parthasarathy a perfect exponent of Senia Gharana which has a great lineage of classical musicians like the great maestros Ustad Wazir Khan and Ustad Allauddin Khan etc.

He took his higher qualifications in music from Robindra Bharati University, Calcutta and also has performed several concerts in many prestigious centers in India. A particular element in the performance of Mr.Banerjee which clearly identifies him as an outstanding artist is for the reason of his meticulous control of Meed, Gamak & Melody.

Shobha Ramachandran

Mrs.Shobha Ramachandran is an acclaimed dance teacher in Kerala since last 35 years. She was a student of the famous Kalamandalam and took her higher diploma in Bharatnatyam and Mohiniyattam from there only. Later she ventured into Kalakshathram style also by systematically learning it. Shobha took extensive study in Kuchipudi also almost 5 years additional to this. Besides this she has specialised herself in the popular dance drama form Ballet additioal to these qualifications. She has the stage experience of more than 20 years in this art form. Shobha is a specialist in choreographing folk dance themes also. She has the experience of training many students who got awarded for the popular youth festivals in Kerala that includes the State Youth Festival.

Biju Divakaran

Biju Divakaran is a known and accepted Violin artist in central Kerala. He has accompanied several musicians of repute including Neyyattinkara Vasudevan, Mavelikkara Prabhakara Varma etc.Biju took his Ganabhushanam in Violin from RLV College of Music, Thrippunithura and took his Ganapraveena (Post-Graduate Diploma) from Sree Swathithirunal Music College, Trivandrum. Before joining the Violin faculty of IIPA he had been very active in stage performances for several concerts throughout Kerala for more than 15 years.
