Grandson of the famous lyricist-lexicographer late Abhayadev., Ambillikuttan began his studies in music at the age of 7 years.
After post-graduation had the rare privilege to become the Disciple of Dr.Balamurali Krishna,the stalwart of Carnatic Music. He was awarded the prestigious title Sarvakalaprathibha (Best All-rounder in Music) during later part of his Academic years. He has performed innumerable programs all over India and many countries abroad. Sung in numerous films and produced and music directed audio of classical, light and Bhajans to his credit. Shri. Ambilikuttan was also deeply involved in the music direction for some famous works and has also received of the State Sangeeth Natak Academy award for outstanding musicians in the year 2001. Currently holds the Principal’s portfolio of the Indian Institute of Performing Arts.
Had her initial training in music from early childhood. After her formal graduation she proceeded to Khairagarh to graduate with a Diploma in Vocal Music. She further went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Indira Kala Sangeetha University. She again proceeded to New Delhi for her advanced training in music where she has been the student of great maestros like Prof.T.N.Krishnan, Prof.T.R.Subrahmanyam and Prof.Leela Omchery. She took Post Graduation in Carnatic Music from the Delhi University. Before joining IIPA she has been serving as the Lecturer of Music at the Training College, Mahatma Gandhi.University, Kerala. She is the wife of Shri. Ambilikuttan.She is currently the Head of Carnatic Department in the Indian Institute of Performing Arts.
She is acclaimed dance teacher in kerala since last 36 years.She was a student of the famous Kalamdalam and took her higher diploma in Bharatanatayam an Mohiniyattam. Later she ventured into Kalakshethram style by systematically learning it. Shoba took extensive study in Kuchipudi for almost 5 years. Besides these, in depth involvement with dance, she has also specialized herself in the popular dance drama from ballet. She has the stage experience of more than 20 years in this art from. Shoba is a specialist in choreographing folk dance themes as well. She has the experience of training many students who got awarded for the popular youth festivals in kerala that includes the State Youth Festival.
Jaikumar is a gifted and experienced Violin Teacher and has remarkable skill for teaching Violin in India and in Singapore. Student of RLV Music College and disciple of Thiruvanathapuram N Vaidyanathan and Prof. Kilimanoor S Thyagarajan, has started the journey of the Violin in his early childhood. Completed Ganabooshan and Ganapraveenain Violin and has performed for more than 500 Solo stage concerts and performed for All India Radio, accompanied for Movies and TV Serials.
Mr Joeboy John is a professional Instructor in Keyboard Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Spanish Guitar and Classic Guitar. He is a an 8th grade Qualified guitarist from Trinity College of London. He is proficient in identifying spark of talents in students and grooming them to performers in shortest time possible. Mr. Joeboy has started his careers as a Tutor in Musee Musicals, Chennai in 1998 with responsibility of music training for students appearing for guitar exams conducted Trinity College, London. He is training students for ABRSM examination for classical guitar and piano. He has an active live stage performance history. He is associated with various leading professional orchestra teams as lead guitarist in stage performance.
Aayushi Verma is a well known Kathak exponent of Lucknow Gharana. She had her kathak training from Late Guru Surendra Shaikya and Guru Meera Dixit. She has performed more than 200 stages of India in many cities. Her professional performances include the prestigious events like Lucknow Mahothsav and Taj Festival, Bhilhor Mahothsav, Lucknow Natya Mahothsav etc. Among the major performances Aayushi took her Post-Graduation from Bhatkhande Sangeeth Vidyapeedh. She has also bagged many awards and accolades in several famous competitions during her studenthood. She has wide teaching experience too and trained several students to the level of kathak performers. At present she heads the Kathak Section of IIPA.
