Shri. Ambilikuttan – Chairman

Chairman and Managing Director

Grandson of the famous lyricist-lexicographer late Abhayadev., Ambillikuttan began his studies in music at the age of 7 years.
After post-graduation had the rare privilege to become the Disciple of Dr.Balamurali Krishna,the stalwart of Carnatic Music. He was awarded the prestigious title Sarvakalaprathibha (Best All-rounder in Music) during later part of his Academic years. He has performed innumerable programs all over India and many countries abroad. Sung in numerous films and produced and music directed audio of classical, light and Bhajans to his credit. Shri. Ambilikuttan was also deeply involved in the music direction for some famous works and has also received of the State Sangeeth Natak Academy award for outstanding musicians in the year 2001. Currently holds the Principal’s portfolio of the Indian Institute of Performing Arts.

Carnatic Vocal

Had her initial training in music from early childhood. After her formal graduation she proceeded to Khairagarh to graduate with a Diploma in Vocal Music. She further went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Indira Kala Sangeetha University. She again proceeded to New Delhi for her advanced training in music where she has been the student of great maestros like Prof.T.N.Krishnan, Prof.T.R.Subrahmanyam and Prof.Leela Omchery. She took Post Graduation in Carnatic Music from the Delhi University. Before joining IIPA she has been serving as the Lecturer of Music at the Training College, Mahatma Gandhi.University, Kerala. She is the wife of Shri. Ambilikuttan.She is currently the Head of Carnatic Department in the Indian Institute of Performing Arts.

Mohandas NV is a distinguished UHNI (Ultra High Net Worth Individual) investment banker with over four decades of experience. His illustrious career began in Calcutta in 1972, followed by stints in Muscat and Bahrain, where he honed his expertise in finance and investment Banking & wealth management.

 

With a solid foundation in the banking sector, Mohandas transitioned to Bank of Credit & Commerce (OBU) over 10 years then moved to Merrill Lynch International Bank in 1990, where he excelled in investment banking and wealth management. His journey encompassed significant milestones, including the merger of Merrill Lynch with Bank of America and subsequently with Julius Baer Bahrain Branch which one of the largest Swiss based Private Wealth Management Banks who has Main Branch based in DIFC – Dubai

 

In December 2013, Mohandas’s illustrious banking career culminated with his retirement, marking 36 years of unwavering dedication to the sector. However, retirement did not signal the end of his contributions; instead, it heralded a new chapter as he ventured into entrepreneurship.

 

In addition to his remarkable banking career, Mohandas is a respected member of the advisory boards of numerous startups in the education and finance sectors across India and the Middle East. His strategic insights and mentorship contribute to the growth and success of these ventures, reflecting his commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Mohandas NV’s career epitomizes excellence, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of success. With over four decades of experience and a strong network in banking, investment banking, and wealth management sectors, he continues to inspire and lead in the global business community.

 

Mohandas is an ardent lover of Indian Arts and Cultural forms and thus his involvement in IIPA is a passion that he wish to follow. He hails from a family of musicians and artists and he is also the father of famous & award winning South Indian Actress Ms. Mamta Mohandas.

Dr. K.S. Menon

Academic Oualifications:

  1. Sc.degree in Physics & Chemistry from N.S.S College, Ottapalam.
  2. Ed.and Ph.D. in Educational Philosophy from University of Bombay.
  3. G.D.S.M(M.B.A) from Bombay University.
  4. Ain Sociology and Public Administration from Karnataka University.
  5. DoneS, M.S, and Ph.D. in Electrical engineering from Washington University, U.S.A.

Experience:

  1. Worked as a teacher and principal of an Irish Presentation higher secondary school in Goa havingabout 6000
  2. Workedas a resource person for Ed. and M.Ed. students of Goa, Daman & Diu.
  3. Workedas Examiner, Chief Examiner for Board of Education a n d B.S.E – Government of Goa, Daman and Diu.
  4. Workedas an Executive Member of Board of Secondary and higher secondary education,  of Goa, Daman and Diu for 12 years.
  1. From1984 to 1988, Worked as a manager of a Grade 1 electrical contracting company in Bahrain
  2. Started business in 1988 as a GRADE I electrical contractor for Electricity and Water Authority(E.W.A), Batelco, W.A, Civil Aviation and B.D.F in the kingdom of Bahrain. At present working as Chairman and Managing Director of Brodan Contracting Co. W.L.L. a Grade I Electro Mechanical CO. in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  3. During this time I was trained to operate high voltage systems of transmission primary substations,11 V. substations, Transformers, switch gears, A.C.Bs and V.C.Bs, Terminations and High voltage Cable Joints. Secured a license authorizing, testing and commissioning of High and Low voltage Equipments. Attended electricity and water authority electrical installation test and Measured Term Contractors examination and secured installation engineers license and Measured Term Contract License and working in the field for more than 32 years. I am also a certified “A” grade electrical engineer from organization for Engineering Professional Practice government of Bahrain

Back in Kerala:

  1. Dr. Menon is the Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan — Ottapalam.
  2. Heis a Trusty of S.N Trust Ottapalam doing various cultural activities and interstate badminton tournament.
  3. 3. Major Donor Paul Harrison Fellow Rotarian Dr. K S Menon is closely associated with the social activities of Rotary club Ottapalam.
  4. K.S.Menon is a Patron of “Sarva Dharma Mytri Pradistan” Trissur, incorporated with Bhavans,Bombay doing Inter religious cultural activities inculcating religious harmony and creating cultural and moral values among growing children of various religions and communities.
  5. Closely associated with an orphanage, Manu Musliyar islamic complex, Vaniamkulam, Ottapalam. He has a loving wife Pushpa Menon and blessed with two daughters Deepa Menon and Deeja Menon
  6. Deepa Menon is married to Arun Aravindan who has done B. Tech., MBA (IIM) and he is thechairman of an IT firm KANOO ELITE TECHNOLOGIES, Kingdom of Bahrain, having offices in Riyadh, Jidda, Damam and Chennai, India. They are blessed with two boys Raghav and Aarav.
  7. 2. Deeja Menon who is a MBA (BITs) married to Abhilash Menon B. Tech., MBA working as Business Development Manager for Chinese Government Investment Projects at Dubai and blessed with a daughter Vedhika.

DR G BABUPrincipal (Carnatic Vocal, Mridangam)

Dr G Babu, a distinguished musician,received his training under the guidance of Prof.Kadanad V K Gopi and advanced studies in the Gurukula Style under the esteemed Mridangam Masestro ,Guru KARAIKUDI R MANI. Since 1996, he has  held The Prestigious position of an A- Grade Artist in Mridangam  at All India Radio ,Thituvananthapuram, showcasing his musical prowess. With an extensive repertoire  ,Dr G Babu has graced numerous music concerts, sharing the stage with legendary musicians such as Dr.M Balamuralikrishna, Ustad Amjad Alikhan ,Dr N RAMANI, T N Sheshagopalan, T V Gopalakrishnan, Shri O S Thyagarajan, Shri Neyattinkara Vasudevan, Shri Kavalam Sreekumar, Smt Sudha Reghunath, HH Aswathy Thirunal Ramavarma among others ,both in India and Abroad.

His musical journey has taken him across the globe ,performing in countries like Nigeria, Austalia, Japan and all GCC counties. Dr G Babu is not only a virtuoso performer  but also a passionate composer of classical music, demonstating a particular flair for Thillanas. Having composed 10 Thillanas in 10 Ragas his instrumental fusion ,”MEGHARAGAM” Conducted at Doordarshan Kendra received widespread acclaim in the music field.

In recognition of his out standing contributions, Dr Babu has honoured with the Ustad Alla Rakha Memorial Award in 2013 and  the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy” KALASHREE PURASKARAM”

His accolades also include   numerous awards from National University and State youth festivals , showcasing his excellence in the field. Driven by a deep passion for  teaching music and mridangam , he has mentored students who have brought laurels to their respective institutions. He was a faculty of IIPA from 2008-10.
